For such a small place, the city of Prague has had more historical significance than many of the much larger neighboring cities and countries. With so much turmoil in the region, it’s a wonder the small Czech Republic wasn’t completely absorbed. Taking a foot tour of the city, I met an older gentleman who had 7 different citizenships in his life, and had never once moved. walking among the sloping streets of old town you get a feel for just how much different influences there were on this sleepy little town. Some of the areas have sections of different architecture, the way you might find layers of different soil during an archaeological dig. Despite the sometimes clashing styles of construction, there are few places as beautiful to watch the sunset while enjoying a latte on a street-side cafe.
